  • Can I connect my Garmin device to a ProteGear plan?

    Yes this is not a problem. After ordering the tariff, we will ask you for your IMEI number, the AuthCode and the desired activation date for setting up the tariff.

  • Can I "move" to a new device with my existing account/tariff?

    Yes this is not a problem. We only need the IMEI number of your new device.

  • Can a friend of mine take over my account?

    Yes. Please send us the e-mail address, billing address, bank details/credit card and we will arrange everything else.

  • How can I deactivate/put my tariff on stand-by?

    Please use our form change data plan.

  • What is the difference between TRACKING Pay-per-day 2 Ad-hoc and TRACKING DAY 2?

    The first is only "adhoc" via https://protegear.io/tripshare/#/devices - the second is made for advance scheduling (see form change data plan)

  • What happens when you press the SOS button?

  • Why does the battery of my Garmin InReach or A*LIVE device run out so quickly?

    When the device is switched on, it searches for a connection to the satellite. If the device is indoors, without a clear view of the sky, this constant (unsuccessful) check with the satellite leads to extremely high battery consumption.
